My name is Sarah Afiqah Rodgers, I am 24 years old and am a Scottish/Singaporean hybrid. I am a photographer based in Glasgow, Scotland and I use this to my advantage by regularly spending my time North in the highlands; hiking mountains and creating content.

Unlike most people, photography was not a long time love of mine. I only came into the photography scene just under two years ago when I went on a solo adventure to Norway – driving from Glasgow to Alta, in winter, alone, in my ford focus, lol. I went on this trip to “find myself” blah blah the usual and find what I truly want to do in life. This thing happened to be the combination of travel, adventure and photography.

Since this trip I have been taking photos non-stop and have been getting myself into new sports and hobbies that I would never have done without this passion. It has fuelled me to get into more mountaineering and climbing and really pushing myself to new levels and I am really looking forward to what comes in the future because of it!

WHY TINY SARAH?

Naming myself Tiny Sarah was a way of accepting what I deem is my flaw. I am highly insecure about my height and have been for a very long time but during the Norway trip I had an epiphany and decided that I was going to use my height to my advantage. Standing at 150cm (4’11ft) short I was no longer going to let it get the better of me and I started using my self as scale against big landscapes. Whether it be a tree, a lighthouse or mountain, I used my height to make the subject that extra bit more spectacular.
Now #tinysarah has evolved into me and my brand, having many variations as my nickname – tiny one, tiny, wee man, etc. It has become my identity and has made me feel more accepting of myself, more creative with my photography and less sad about never reaching the 5ft mark.
It gives me motivation to pursue a shot that I would normally never do – it pushes me to work that extra bit harder to make sure that I am in the photo – whether it is setting up a tripod or a bullying a friend to take it for me. I will always make room for a #tinysarah shot.
